Research
I am an undergraduate student in the department of aerospace and mechanical engineering at the University of Notre Dame. My research interests are centered around the applications of robotics in healthcare and controls in prosthesis development. I am particularly interested in developing robust lower-limb prostheses capable of adapting to varying conditions with improved stability and mobility. In the lab, I will be working with David Kelly to explore a comprehensive approach to the control framework for a powered knee-ankle prosthesis. Specifically, we will be studying approaches for collecting and compiling sensor data to build a thigh-based phase variable and track the progression of the gait cycle.
Experience
eNABLE ND
As a team leader for enableND on campus, I supervised the design and manufacturing of a myoelectric transradial prosthesis with integrated 3D printed components and Arduino electronics. Employing EMG sensors, we worked to achieve the functionality the user desired from the device and improve calibration methods for the sensors.
Autonomous Mobile Robots Project
As a member of a student project team, I researched means of integrating autonomous material handling capabilities within the glass value stream of a Lippert Components’ plant via use of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). After conducting plant visits and testing the limits of various vision alternatives, we presented recommendations to plant management.

Life
I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee with the Notre Dame club team, teaching VEX robotics at the Center for Civic Innovation, and competing in interhall sports for McGlinn Hall.
